The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, on Wednesday, January 18, mocked Labour Party (LP).

At Chatham House, while speaking on why he refused to merge with Peter Obi’s party, Kwankwaso said the Labour Party, is like “Andrews Liver Salt”, that rises and falls down all of a sudden, Channels TV reported.

Kwankwaso mocked Labour Party

While taking a swipe at Peter Obi, LP’s flagbearer, Kwankwaso said;

“Our party (NNPP) is the only grown party in Nigeria today… to us (Labour Party), is like “Andrews Liver Salt” just came (all of a sudden) keeps rising and now it’s coming down. That’s the reality, take note of it.”

Kwankwaso said this during his appearance at the London-based Chatham House, where he spoke on the topic ‘Nigeria’s 2023 elections: Service delivery and policy alternatives’.

Nigerians react

Nigerians took to the comment section of the media on Twitter and reacted to the development.

“HE Peter Obi did not mention any party or persons name in his Chattam House…kwankwaso just needs some more highlights for himself by demarketing Labour party that the world is documenting already.”

2023 presidency: No road for Tinubu, Kwankwaso, Obi as states begin race on who will bring Atiku most votes

In another report, there is now a competition among some prominent Nigerian states on who will bring the highest number of votes for Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Paty (PDP) during the general elections.

The states involved in what has been described as a tournament are Adamawa, Delta, Sokoto, and Bauchi.

On his part, the governor of Bauchi, Bala Mohammed, who was at a recent campaign rally in the north, boasted that his state will win the ongoing tournament.

Finally, Chatham House speaks on why Atiku hasn’t joined its conversation like Tinubu, Obi

Meanwhile, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is yet to respond to an invitation by the Chatham House Institute.

This was disclosed by the director of the Africa Programme, Alex Vines, at the institute on Monday, January 16.

According to Vines, Mahmood Yakubu, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the NNPP will be at the institute on January 17 and 18.
