- Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has told the national chairman of the PDP, Iyorchia Ayu, that the battle line has been drawn between the 2 camps
- Wike threatened that his camp will do everything legally possible to reveal all the illegalities in the party
Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers state, has declared total war on the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the recent suspension of some members of the party.
According to the governor, the suspension of the loyalists of the G5 governors would not help the PDP in the forthcoming polls, The Nation reported.
The governor said with the latest action of the national chairman, the battle lines have been drawn with Ayu while promising to challenge all illegal actions of Ayu in court.
According to Wike, Ayu’s latest punitive action is total rubbish, adding that they had gone beyond that kind of decision
The governor said:
“Your suspending people will not help you in any way. The battle line has been fully drawn. As I speak to you we will do everything legally possible to challenge any decision that we know is illegal.”
Wike said it is rubbish for the PDP national chairman to believe he can threaten people by suspending them.
The Rivers governor, who is the chairman of the G5 governors said his camp is above such threat, adding that they believe in the rule of law and the party’s constitution.
According to Wike, Ayu is taking steps that will later give him more headaches and they are watching to determine their next move.
