Yoruba Nation Protesters Arrested In Ikeja Lagos Over Planned Protest
The Lagos State Police have apprehended several individuals believed to be connected to the Yoruba Nation movement in the Alausa region of the state.
According to a statement made by the command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, on Sunday, the group was planning to establish a camp in Alausa, Ikeja, in order to stage a demonstration calling for the secession of the Yoruba people.
The spokesperson reported that the camp was quickly dismantled and the agitators were taken into custody. An investigation is ongoing at the state Criminal Investigation Department.
The statement concluded by stating that lawlessness will not be tolerated.
