The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, arraigned one Ali Bello, a nephew of Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, before Justice Obiora Egwuatu of a Federal High Court, Abuja.
Bello was arraigned alongside Abba Adauda, Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege, Iyada Sadat, and Rashida Bello (at large) on 18 count charge bordering on criminal misappropriation and money laundering to the tune of N3,081,804,654.00.

The spokesperson for the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren revealed in a statement shared on the Facebook page of the commission and sighted by calabargistblog.com.ng on Wednesday, February 8th.

Meanwhile, Bello was docked alongside Abba Adauda, Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege, Iyada Sadat, Rashida Bello (at large) on 18 count charge bordering on criminal misappropriation and money laundering to the tune of N3,081,804,654.00 (Three Billion, Eighty One Million, Eight Hundred and Four Thousand, Six Hundred and Fifty Four Naira.
In a ruling on Wednesday, the defendants pleaded “not guilty” to all the charges preferred against them.
Again, Court Sends EFCC Chairman to Kuje Prison, Gives Marching Order to IGP
Abdulrasheed Bawa, the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), was ordered to be remanded at Kuje correctional prison over disobedience to a court order.
According to Daily Independent, the Inspector-General of Police also received an order to effect the arrest of Bawa and remand him in the prison for the next 14 days until he clears himself of the court contempt.
In his ruling on Monday, February 6, Justice R.O. Ayoola of the Kogi state high court granted the application for committal to prison of the anti-graft agency over disobedience to a court order.
Magistrate receives query for issuing warrant of arrest for PDP governorship candidate
calabargistblog.com.ng earlier reported that a chief magistrate, Emmanuel Iyanna, has been queried by the chief judge of the Abuja federal high court.
The chief magistrate was queried over the warrant of arrest he issued on Umo Eno, the PDP governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom state.
The PDP candidate has sent a petition through his legal team headed by Samuel Ikpo against Iyanna, claiming that the warrant was irregular and illegal.
