“The Man Died,” a memoir written by Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka, is about to be launched as a characteristic movie directed by Awam Amkpa and shall be obtainable to observe in July this 12 months.
Throughout Nigeria’s Civil Battle, within the late Sixties, Soyinka’s outspoken criticisms of the authorities’ motion in the course of the warfare landed him in jail for twenty-two months by the Nigerian army authorities. In 1972, he revealed the memoir, a chronicle of his experiences in jail which explored themes like survival, perseverance and resilience.
Now, his experiences are tailored into a movie starring Wale Ojo, Sam Dede, Nobert Younger, Chidi Mokeme, Segilola Ogida and Simileoluwa Hassan. Written by Bode Asiyanbi and produced by Femi Odugbemi, the movie is anticipated to premiere in July, Soyinka’s delivery month, coinciding together with his ninetieth birthday.
